She/Her
Licensed Therapist, LMHC
I love specializing in OCD, because there is an evidence-based treatment that works. There has rarely been anyone who didn't benefit, at least a little bit, from treatment. I look forward to providing you with empathy and motivation as we practice exposures that can reduce your OCD symptoms. Outside of work, I like writing poetry and going to open mics in my area to read in front of an audience, just to challenge myself to share my work.

I love seeing how far into the recovery journey people who struggle with OCD can go. They can go from OCD having completely taken over their lives to a point where it's something they manage very easily.
Ever since I was a child, I've always been fascinated with how the mind works. Sometimes things didn't make sense to me, and I wanted to find out why people behave in the ways they do.
Therapy makes such a difference in people's lives. I like that there is an evidence-based treatment that has never failed me in my work with members who have OCD. There has rarely been anyone who didn't benefit, at least a little bit, from treatment. I love seeing how far into the recovery journey people who struggle with OCD can go. Particularly trauma, depression, and several anxiety disorders. I treat social anxiety, generalized anxiety—basically any anxiety-related disorder.
When you're learning to play the piano, if you start by trying to play a Mozart sonata, you might get discouraged because your newly acquired skills aren't enough to help you play like a concert pianist. Similarly, when you try ERP, you might get discouraged in the beginning. But you have just started practicing. Don't allow initial barriers to discourage you from continuing to practice ERP. The more you practice, the better you get, and the more results you will see.
Building rapport between us is very important. In fact, studies have shown that regardless of the modality of treatment, the rapport between client and counselor is what tends to make the biggest difference in terms of progress. So I will focus on rapport-building if you're having a hard time sharing your feelings.
