She/Her
Licensed Therapist, MS, LCPC
As a therapist, I approach my sessions with compassion, encouragement, and scientific facts. I know it can be hard to talk about these things, especially if you've worked with other therapists who didn't understand OCD. In therapy, we will follow the science and research. I also try to have a sense of humor when possible; I find that a little of that goes a long way. Outside of work, I love to be out in nature, and I like to cook. Mexican food is one of my favorites.

I tried other career paths, but I kept coming back to helping others in a therapeutic way. Once I affirmed that choice, I never looked back. Helping others in therapy is my dream job.
I say that OCD kind of came to me. When I was in private practice, a lot of people were coming to me with those symptoms. But I didn't have the full toolkit to treat them. That's when I found NOCD, because I was looking for training.
I'm experienced with a lot of conditions. I started in family therapy, so I have a background in family systems. I've treated mood disorders, including anxiety and depression. Anxiety is my jam—it's what I like to treat. That's because it's so pervasive—it's everywhere—and it's so treatable. We use ERP for OCD, but there are effective treatments for anxiety disorders across the board.

Know that it's normal to be afraid. We have a couple of tools within NOCD that you can use to express those thoughts. If you're afraid to say the thoughts out loud, you could use the journal-entry feature of the app. You can message me and say, 'Hey, I'm nervous.' That can help me take things more slowly or go step-by-step. NOCD also has Member Advocates, so you can talk with someone who's been through this treatment before. I really encourage you to speak up and just say, 'I'm nervous about this.' We can start slow. You can wait until you know me a little bit better before giving me all the details. That's okay.
NOCD therapists are trained by our world-renowned clinical leadership team.
