She/Her
Licensed Therapist, MC, LPC, LPCC
As a therapist, I'm really direct and comfortable pushing you to do what you need to do. I don't shy away from topics that you might think are weird or uncomfortable. I'm here to help you deal with those. Accountability is also important to me—we're going to talk about what's going well, and what's not going well. A fun fact about me: When I'm not in session, I love to nerd out playing board games and D&D, and try to keep my plants and mushroom gardens alive.

OCD is not a character flaw. These intrusive thoughts have simply gotten out of control and are dominating your life. I have a lot of compassion and empathy for that, and I want to help you feel better.
It came to me naturally. I was typically the source of advice among my friend group. I felt that I was good at it, and it brought me joy and meaning when I realized I could make a career out of it. Making the world a better place one person at a time: that goal hasn't changed over the decade I've been a therapist.
I realized that a lot was missing for people with OCD. Too many people with OCD aren't given the right tools to help. When you're training to become a therapist in grad school, they mostly skip over OCD. It's always been an area I was interested in, so when I found NOCD and ERP— something that works and is proven by research—I wanted to specialize.
I've worked in the mental health system for a decade now. Anxiety is kind of the bread and butter of what I work with, and I love to do it. Anxiety is one of those things that everyone may have to some extent, and we all have the ability to regulate and find power over. I'm a trauma therapist by trade. I really like working with people who have traumatic histories and are trying to cope. Most recently, I've worked with compulsive sexual behavior.
First of all, congratulations! You took the hardest step, which is starting treatment. This is going to be tough, but it's going to be worth it. We're going to work, and we're going to work really hard. But you're already working hard with OCD, and you're not getting results. We will work hard and get you some relief instead.
First, know that I have a lot of experience. There's not much you can say that will surprise me. These are intrusive thoughts that are distressing you. This is not a character flaw. I won't judge you as a person; I won't think you're bad. I recognize this is something that has gotten out of control and is dominating your life. I have a lot of compassion and empathy for that, and I want to help you feel better.
