She/Her
Licensed Therapist, LCSW
I don't believe therapy needs to feel intense, sad, or scary. I try to bring some fun and humor into my sessions to make it lively and comfortable. I work really hard at creating a judgment-free space. I hope you'll feel comfortable sharing with me, and that you'll feel seen, heard, and not judged. When I'm not doing therapy, I'm a voracious reader. I read four to five novels a week. In my spare time, you'll probably never find me without a book either directly on my face or in my hand.

You're stepping into a journey that is going to be hard at times. It may be scary, but ultimately you're on a path that a lot of people have been on before, and it's proven to be very successful in getting their lives back.
My desire to become a therapist started pretty young, because my dad's a therapist. So I grew up around therapy, and I've always loved the idea of getting to walk with people through some of their difficult journeys. I've found that life is both beautiful and challenging. As a therapist, I get to help people find ways to manage the challenging parts of life, so they can more fully experience the beautiful parts. It's just the most fulfilling experience. I tell people I get to build relationships for a living. I can't imagine anything better than that.
There is such an effective, research-backed treatment program for it. That's exciting for me. I really hope to help people overcome challenges and regain their sense of life and excitement. That there is such a helpful, useful, and effective tool ignited my fire for therapy and makes me excited about it.
On top of OCD, I have experience treating depressive disorders, mood disorders, and the whole spectrum of anxiety disorders. I've also done a lot of work with different personality disorders, especially borderline personality disorder.

It can be hard getting started, and there will be hard points along the way, but this is something that has proven to be effective and worth the challenge.
Just start by sharing that feeling. Sharing the most shameful or scary thoughts with me is not something that needs to happen right away. We can build trust before that happens. I am not here to judge. I have heard and seen a lot of things, and there's nothing you're going to share with me that's going to make me judge you or not want to continue therapy with you. Ultimately, I am glad you're sharing with me. I feel honored to be the one that gets to hear that.
