Get to know Monica Natarajan

Becoming a therapist was a calling for me because I'm passionate about ameliorating distress in others. I believe everyone deserves to live a satisfying and fulfilling life, and I wanted to play a role in helping people achieve that. Throughout my life, I've had a natural inclination toward listening to and empathizing with individuals struggling with mental health conditions and life transitions. I'm constantly inspired by the resilience and strength of my clients.

I became an OCD therapist because OCD is often misdiagnosed, and many individuals suffer for years before finding the appropriate treatment. I'm passionate about helping people overcome their OCD symptoms and regain control over their thoughts and behaviors. Being an OCD therapist allows me to make a meaningful difference in quality of life, and seeing the people I work with progress and achieve their treatment goals is incredibly rewarding. Overall, I feel honored and privileged to help people on their journey toward recovery and improved mental health

I've provided mental health treatment in several settings, including outpatient community clinics, inpatient hospitalization, and supportive housing facilities. I'm experienced in working with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and adjustment disorders.

You will be provided with ERP, which is an evidence-based practice for OCD. I know that OCD is a difficult condition to deal with, but I will be right alongside you throughout your journey.

I have many years of experience practicing mental health counseling, and I will not judge you by any of your thoughts or behaviors. I know that OCD is pushing you to have these intrusive thoughts. I commend you in seeking help.

Monica is amazing. I’ve struggled to see progress in therapy in the past. When I work with Monica there’s a noticeable difference. She helps me address and face the challenges we are working through. She listens and give me concrete feedback and help on what next to do to move forward in my recovery. I have made progress with her help.

Monica is a great listener who provides actionable feedback and solutions to help me with OCD and recover from past traumas. She takes an individualized approach to treatment and suggests exposures that are specifically tailored to my struggles. I look forward to our sessions and feel very comfortable sharing with Monica.

I am a long time sufferer that finally is getting the type of therapy needed to tackle this disorder head on. Dealing with both harm, health, and somatic subtypes, I am always fearful of what I might say or what could be interpreted by a therapist as something so disturbing that I feel isolated or alone. Monica Natarajan has made me feel comfortable to lay it all out on the table and discuss what is going on in my mind without shame or judgement. Although I am still struggling and 3 months into recovery , I know that this is not a solution that can happen overnight. I am very grateful to have this platform and utilize it daily.

From just our second session, talking with Monica has felt easy and natural. I feel very comfortable sharing OCD-related struggles as well as relationship and work stresses. Monica has helped me understand how certain behaviors can actually reinforce my OCD and we have moved at a comfortable and steady pace with exposure therapies.

I've only had three sessions with Monica, but already I'm feeling really hopeful I'm going to eliminate OCD from my life. It's been decades, and nothing has ever really worked..I've had therapist after therapist. Monica, and this program, take a more active role in overcoming this disease. I'm very encouraged!

She’s probably the only Therapist I’ve been comfortable with in a long time, and with the practices I’ve done with her, my OCD has significantly improved in the last couple months. Thank you!!!
