About

I am committed to the efficacy of exposure response prevention, because it works! I will highlight your strengths and encourage you to use them through the ERP process. There is no easy way around it—you have to do the work, but we are here to support you through those challenges. Some fun facts about me: I'm a hopeless animal enthusiast and have two rescue dogs, Juno and Ike. I like to pretend that I know how to cook, run in the park, hike the mountains, and I recently started a garden. My favorite part so far is pulling weeds—it is surprisingly satisfying.

It is incredibly empowering when we can confront our fears and learn to manage them, instead of being controlled by them.

Get to know Klara Prachar

I was never someone who had it figured out from an early age. I started my career in the arts, and it took many years and a few career changes before I realized that becoming a clinician was 'home.' There is a lot of power inherent in human connection, and I enjoy meeting people on their journey to wellness—it's important!

When I became personally acquainted with someone who struggled with OCD, I became aware of the painful struggle OCD can cause. I saw the shame that person felt around their OCD, along with the lack of community resources. It inspired me to become an ERP specialist. I believe people can decrease their symptoms and lead a rich life.

While I feel passionate about working with OCD conditions, I'm also interested in working with grief, anxiety, depression, and the challenges that come with different stages of life. I love to work with the LGBTQIA community and have spent a decade focusing on clients experiencing mental health crises. Community mental health is also an interest of mine, and I've worked for many years with people impacted by serious mental illnesses.

Being unsure and afraid is OK. In fact, it's a perfectly natural part of the process. Don’t let that fear stop you from coming in to work with us, to work on yourself.

I can't force you to share your thoughts with me. But I will create a safe space for you and encourage you to do so, because I know the freedom that can come with expressing those thoughts out loud.
