About

My approach to treating OCD is rooted in a compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized framework. I see each individual as unique. I utilize exposure and response prevention (ERP) to help you confront and manage obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. Through gradual exposure to triggers and preventing compulsive responses, we work together to reduce the impact of OCD on your life. Understanding OCD is crucial. I provide information about the condition, its underlying mechanisms, and how treatment works. I believe in a collaborative therapeutic relationship. You are an active participant in your treatment, and together we make decisions about the direction of therapy and the best approaches to achieve your goals. Outside of work, I enjoy working in my garden, going to the beach, and spending time with my family.

Get to know Margaux Marquez

My professional journey began in early childhood, offering support to children and their families. My experience in nurturing relationships and fostering secure, compassionate environments left me deeply fulfilled. This ignited my passion for practicing therapy, where I firmly believe the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of success.

During my time as a therapist, I witnessed the profound impact of fear and anxiety on people's ability to lead fulfilling lives. Many individuals I worked with experienced a deep sense of isolation and hopelessness. This drove me to seek out the most effective methods to support people in rediscovering hope and re-establishing connections with others. My specialization in OCD emerged from this passion. I want to empower individuals to overcome their struggles and lead more fulfilling lives.

In addition to my specialization in OCD, I've dedicated my time and expertise to child abuse prevention, trauma therapy, LGBTQ issues, homelessness, and intimate partner violence. I've also provided support to children and adults navigating depression, anxiety, and PTSD, among other mental health concerns.

Therapy is a collaborative process. You'll work with me to set goals, explore challenges, and develop strategies for personal growth and healing. Therapy is a safe, private, and non-judgmental space to share your concerns and challenges. Therapy isn't a quick fix, and progress may take time. Be patient with yourself and the process.

If you're afraid to share your thoughts, it's important to address this fear. Open and honest communication is vital in therapy. It is completely normal to feel apprehensive about sharing personal, potentially difficult thoughts and feelings. Please remember that I'm here to support you and will understand your apprehension.
