About

My primary approach to treating OCD involves the use of exposure and response prevention (ERP), which is widely recognized as the gold standard treatment for OCD. ERP entails exposing individuals to their obsessive fears in a controlled and gradual manner while simultaneously preventing the compulsive behaviors that provide temporary relief. I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, and positive regard for those who are struggling. Before becoming a therapist I was a classical vocalist. I love music, concerts, and discovering new artists. I am an avid gym-goer and enjoy hiking with my partner. Any chance I get to start a new TV show, I do. You can find me bingeing something new most weeks.

Get to know Mason Allred

My decision to become a therapist was driven by a deep-seated desire to assist individuals in overcoming life's challenges and helping them lead more fulfilling lives. The prospect of making a positive impact on people facing emotional difficulties has always felt deeply important to me for as long as I can remember.

I saw the profound impact OCD has on individuals and the limited resources available to them. OCD is frequently misunderstood and misdiagnosed, and it’s always a pleasure to help those who've suffered because of OCD.

In addition to OCD, I have a strong background and a particular interest in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals in therapy, specifically working through sexual orientation-based stress and gender identity. I also have experience working with individuals dealing with depression and anxiety disorders. Mental health and diving deep with others have always been integral to my life’s experience.

Before embarking on NOCD Therapy, it's essential to understand that you are not alone in your journey to overcome OCD. Our therapy is evidence-based, and I'm dedicated to providing you with the support and tools needed for progress. Treatment may present challenges as we work together to confront your fears, but I will guide you every step of the way. Open communication and active participation in therapy are key to achieving success.

Feeling apprehensive about sharing thoughts, especially OCD-related obsessions, is entirely normal. Please know that our relationship in therapy is built on trust and confidentiality. If you ever feel uncomfortable or fearful about discussing specific thoughts or experiences, please don't hesitate to communicate that with me. Therapy is a non-judgmental space!
