About

My first goal is to help you feel comfortable opening up about your concerns. We will then work together to come up with the best treatment plan to address them. Facing the fears beneath your OCD is a challenging process, but I will be here to offer encouragement and support throughout your journey. When I'm not working, I love to spend time in nature hiking or paddleboarding, hang out with my family, try new restaurants, or just curl up on the couch with my pup.

Get to know Amy Blum Cole

I believe life is made meaningful by forming deep connections with others. I have always been interested in people and trying to understand what makes them tick. Together, this led me to psychology and eventually clinical social work.

Although almost all mental health conditions can wreak havoc on an individual’s life, OCD is one of the few with a well-studied, highly effective treatment. It is so rewarding to know that my work can help members dramatically improve the quality of their lives often in a relatively short period of time.

In addition to OCD, I have experience working with anxiety, depression, and trauma. These are all mental health conditions that have effective, evidence-based treatments. I want to make sure the work I'm doing—and the work I'm asking my members to do—is truly effective for the concerns that they are facing.

ERP can be challenging work. You will have to sit with uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, and your OCD will want to revert to strategies that 'worked' in the past. But you're doing the hardest part right now by reaching out for help.

It is totally normal to be uncomfortable sharing private thoughts with a new person. Many times, the thoughts that provoke OCD are exactly the kind of thoughts that make us feel shame. It is yet another way OCD takes control of our lives. My goal as a therapist is to help put you at ease and create a space where you feel comfortable talking about whatever thoughts may emerge.
