About

As a therapist, I come into session ready to meet you where you're at. I'll listen to and validate your struggles, then identify how to overcome them together. We're a team who have come together to beat and treat your OCD, anxiety, and depression. I will be part of your journey, there to support you, encourage you, and push you at times when you need it. Outside of work, I like to take pilates classes, read fiction books, and spend time with my friends and family. Fun fact: I have a black cat named Ellie who looks like Toothless from the movie How to Train Your Dragon.

Get to know Lucila de Mujica

My passion for psychology started when I was a teenager who struggled with social anxiety. I didn’t understand what was happening in my mind, and I started reading about anxiety and other mental health disorders. When I graduated from college, I began working in a middle school as an ESOL paraprofessional, where I supported students whose first language was not English. As I worked with these students, I realized that not understanding or speaking the English language was only part of the problem. These students were struggling with something bigger than a language barrier; they felt isolated and out of place, and struggled with feelings of sadness, depression, and anxiety. I realized that I could be more of an asset to people, like these students, as a therapist.

I decided to specialize in OCD because of the lack of resources available for people who struggle with that diagnosis. There aren't enough providers for this mental health disorder, and many people who live with OCD day to day are not receiving adequate care. I wanted to help change people’s lives and guide them to the life they want.

I have experience working with anxiety disorders, such as social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and other diagnoses falling under the umbrella of anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders.

Uncertainty is not as scary as it sounds. ERP is difficult, and it will take hard work. But with time, it will get more tolerable, and you'll start to see small changes that become the big life changes you dream of. We'll work together to face those feared outcomes, to sit with uncertainty, and to tolerate the unknown. You'll start to see it isn't as bad as our minds tell us it will be.

First of all, don’t beat yourself up for having this response; it happens. Sharing thoughts can be scary, especially if your mind has tricked you into thinking that you are those thoughts. I would encourage you to be brave. Share your thoughts and emotions with me so we can work together to start living the life you want to live. I am here to listen, I am here to help, and I will not judge those thoughts.
