Under the supervision of Kellie KintzWhile treating OCD, it's important to establish a collaborative relationship between therapist and member. I may be the expert in treating OCD, but you are the expert in your OCD experience. Treatment will be tailored to your therapeutic needs, and I'll maintain your consent throughout. I may challenge you at times, but your boundaries and insight will always be respected, leaving the ball in your court. A fun fact about me: I have the oddest pairing of dogs: a pitbull (Benji) and chihuahua (Zeus).

When you attend your first session, you're showing up for yourself, and it allows me to begin showing up for you, too!
My motivation for becoming a therapist stems from my childhood. Growing up, I experienced mental health challenges. Because I was part of a low-income household, I didn't have access to treatment. As I got older, I wished I could've had a therapist or professional supporting me. Now I'm determined to be that person for others.
I decided to specialize in OCD because I've personally witnessed the level of impairment and distress that it can cause. I want to be a clinician who can help individuals conquer their fears.
Treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders are other areas of my clinical focus. I chose to focus on those diagnoses because I'm certified in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). The aim is to challenge distortive thinking, which commonly accompanies anxiety and depressive Disorders. That focus has established a wonderful foundation for treating OCD.
The therapy model used at NOCD is the gold standard for treating OCD—it's that effective. During our time together, you will set the pace while expanding your comfort zone. Consent is a major component of ERP therapy. That ensures your boundaries are respected and your voice is heard throughout the treatment process.
I want to validate that being scared is OK. Facing your fears is a difficult task, especially when you're doing it with a stranger. I will actively work to identify myself as a support figure and ensure our sessions serve as a safe place. If you're scared to share your thoughts with me, it's OK to be honest about it. We can work from there.
