Licensed Therapist, PhD, LMHC
During OCD therapy, I believe developing rapport with your therapist is essential. I seek to build a collaborative relationship that's grounded in compassion and an understanding of your unique set of circumstances. Some hobbies I enjoy outside of work are cycling and travel. Fun fact: My name (Karrol-Jo) comes from my maternal grandfather, whose name was Joseph Karrol. My dad dubbed me KJ.

I am your ally and advocate.
As early as I can remember, I've felt empathy and compassion for human suffering. As someone who's been through my own challenging experiences, it's important that I help others who suffer and are often misunderstood. I hold a deep sense of gratitude for the people who helped me recover from my challenges. That fueled my desire to dedicate my life to giving back and helping others.
It's rewarding to help people recover and regain their lives. When I learned about ERP (exposure and response prevention) and the tremendous success of this evidence-based approach, I was excited to work with a protocol that truly helps people recover.
I also specialize in treating anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and trauma. I've experienced my own issues with anxiety and trauma, which were debilitating. Receiving professional help and recovering from these issues transformed my life.
