About

My approach to treating OCD is empathetic and challenging. Remaining in the bubble you've created to appease OCD symptoms won't result in any changes. We can work together to tackle these obstacles, which at times may be uncomfortable and distressing. I strive to be trauma-informed in all my therapeutic endeavors. This means coming from a place of compassion and empathy while creating a roadmap together for recovery, so we know what's next. Outside of work, I have a puppy that's about 18 months old. She's a Cane Corso/pitbull mix and full of energy. We frequent parks, go for long walks, and explore new aspects of the city. I think her favorite place is a taqueria near our house, probably for the chips. During sessions, you may catch a peek of her as she naps beside my desk.

Get to know Hannah Quackenbush

I have a passion for working with others and curiosity about how the brain works. Becoming a therapist allowed me to create a career from that. I find the work incredibly rewarding, and I enjoy walking alongside someone as they take the next step in their mental health journey.

OCD is frequently misunderstood by our society, including some professionals in the field and even those living with the disorder. I wanted to add to the community of specialists who know ERP and can work with those impacted by OCD and other anxiety-related disorders. There are so few options available for those who struggle with OCD—it's important that those seeking help can access it from therapists who are knowledgeable about treatment options.

I began my career working with survivors of sexual violence and domestic violence. I primarily treated individuals with PTSD as well as depressive and anxious symptoms that are frequently comorbid with trauma. I also have extensive knowledge of behavioral therapies such as ERP and behavioral activation.

Sometimes things may get worse before they get better. If ERP is new to you, it may feel uncomfortable or distressing. It's my goal to provide you with the tools you need to move through ERP and conquer those fears. Is the discomfort of OCD—and the impact on your life—greater than the temporary discomfort of therapy and ERP? Ultimately, it's up to you to take that next step. We're here to show you the path.

Sharing intrusive thoughts, and the fears that prompt them, can be scary. However, keeping them a secret—and continuing to let OCD take control of your life—can be even scarier. Once you're able to share those thoughts and fears, we can take the next steps to reclaim control of your life.
