About

My approach to treating OCD includes allowing you to disclose your obsessions and compulsions, putting them in a hierarchy, and beginning to work on them using exposure response prevention (ERP), cautiously. During my free time, I love being with my husband and son. I like to shop, read, do puzzles, and just relax at home.

Get to know Candace Gillespie

I wanted to be a therapist because of the experiences I had in my late teenage years. I knew I wanted to help others with their issues.

Someone close to me had OCD. It was very hard for him. I want to help others overcome their obsessions and compulsions and regain normalcy.

Anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I wanted to focus on these areas based on life experiences and seeing that others needed quality mental health care. Focusing in these areas allows me to be more empathic, caring, and provide more unconditional positive regard.

Treatment requires exposure to the things you're struggling most with. ERP is very effective. It can reduce compulsions and sometimes eliminate them.

If you're afraid to share your thoughts, that's understandable. I'll create a safe haven for you, so you'll become comfortable with me and the therapeutic relationship.

NOCD therapists are trained by our world-renowned clinical leadership team.
