About

My approach to OCD is through commitment. Albert Einstein once said, 'The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know.' I find incredible wisdom in that statement. Every day, I maintain a level of curiosity and a commitment to learn as I pledge to better your growth and comfort. Here is a fun random fact: I was a national jump rope champion as a child. Now that I’m not as cool (if you consider jump-roping such), I love playing random sports and spoiling my rockstar mutt, Hendrix.

Get to know Brooke Beatty

Since my playground days, I've been keeping others’ secrets and helping people find common ground. It fills my soul to help others grow, and therapy accomplishes just that.

As parents often whisper that they don't have a favorite child, therapists also mimic a similar sentiment. But the truth is, I do secretly have favorites, and they all exhibit OCD and anxious tendencies. I feel so much compassion for everyone who has attempted therapy without results. What if therapy wasn't formally helpful because of an undiscovered OCD diagnosis? There is a way to feel better. Whether you’re just beginning or are already deep into NOCD Therapy, you're giving yourself a chance, and I couldn't be prouder of you.

Historically, I've focused on self-compassion and group therapy. Stay tuned: I have a feeling I'll soon add more foci to my repertoire. I focus on self-compassion because I believe that by giving grace toward our own mistakes, suffering is diminished. In group therapy, it's revolutionary to watch personal growth when someone relates to another person's emotions, when they previously felt alone in their suffering.

There is a controversial UFC fighter, Conor McGregor, who beautifully summed up the experience of our therapy goal together. He stated, “The more you seek the uncomfortable, the more you will become comfortable.” Just like fighters, we will purposefully chase discomfort to get more comfortable. Sounds like a paradox, but it’s a true path to freedom.

It is OK and normal to want to guard our thoughts. When you’re ready, nothing you can share will shock me. I accept you. And here’s another secret: We're not trying to figure out why you have obsessions or where they originated, which means they have a judgment-free seat in our sessions.
