About

As a therapist, I bring perspective, understanding, compassion, and the ability to collaborate with individuals wherever they are in their journey. A fun fact about me: There are five love languages, based on Gary Chapman's book; however, I've discovered a sixth one for me—excessive use of emojis. 🤣😂🤣. For whatever reason, it just seems to make me smile and brings a lot of joy!

Get to know Ruthie Hagin

I desired to live a life that invested in and supported people in their journey, to bring compassion, kindness, encouragement, and hope when people need it most.

I believe I didn't choose to specialize in OCD—OCD chose me! A couple of things drew me to this specialty. I've been a therapist for many years in a variety of settings and levels of care with a wide variety of populations and backgrounds across the lifespan. I've worked in hospitals, schools, nursing homes, assisted living spaces, community-based services, adult day care, universities, churches, and counseling centers. During this time, I've had the privilege to know many individuals seeking knowledge, understanding, care, compassion, support, and ultimately some relief from the distress they're experiencing. For some, OCD was an issue. There were more individuals struggling with this than I anticipated. I realized that to be better support, I needed to learn more about it. Many people close to me have OCD, including coworkers, friends, and family members. I wanted to specialize to learn how to better support people around me in all areas of life, professionally and/or personally.

I have multiple specialty areas with multiple licenses: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have worked within multiple settings and levels of care with ages across the lifespan, from children to geriatric care. Within this experience, I have worked in crisis intervention as well.

We are here to support you. Based on research, the treatment modality used is very effective. There is hope!

We understand it takes a lot of courage to start therapy and a lot of courage to open up and share your struggles. If there is a time you feel afraid, please communicate that. We are here to talk through it and be a support.
