About

My approach to treating OCD is a blend of client-centered and evidence-based. While using tried and true modalities like ERP, I use rapport to create a compassionate space for healing. I have experience working with kids/adolescents, adults, pregnant/postpartum/new parents/families, disabled populations, and BIPOC populations. Outside of work, I love to sing, play the ukulele, run, paint, and cook. I learned how to bike in my 20's and hope to do a triathlon someday. I am blessed with my zoo of three cats and a big dog.

Get to know Marissa Kartub

I wanted to become a therapist to be a professional helper who could provide support throughout the healing process.

I decided to specialize in OCD after working with perinatal mood disorders and realizing how under-treated and misdiagnosed postpartum OCD is. I realized how important it was to grow my competency to better serve such a significant population.

I have experience working with perinatal mental health, therapy for ages 0-5, infertility, disability, family and couples, adolescents, group therapy, trauma, interpersonal violence, and parenting. I have a deep passion for perinatal mental health, especially infertility. I am particularly interested in the intersection of intergenerational trauma, women's health, and mental health outcomes.

NOCD therapists use ERP (exposure response prevention) therapy to treat OCD. We are thoroughly trained and specialized to support you. Although therapy can be intimidating, know that you're in good hands and that we believe in you!

All roads lead to Rome, so if we need to slow the pace, that's OK. Please let me know if there's anything that could make the therapy space feel safer for you—I love and need your feedback. If ever you're unsure, I will reaffirm here and many times in session that you are the most important part of the therapy process, so your voice is vital. You're investing in yourself by being here, so we have to ensure you feel comfortable enough to be yourself. Thank you for trusting in me.
